To commemorate National Police Week, the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) Office has posted two Web advertisements announcing this important event. We encourage you to join us in remembering our fallen officers and honoring those who continue to serve by downloading one of these Web advertisements and placing them on your personal Web page, blog, social media outlet, etc. The event will begin with a candlelight vigil on May 13, 2011. We attended the ceremonies for National Police Week for our son-in-law, Jonathon T. McDonald with our daughter in Washington DC on May 13 thru May 15. I was wondering if there were articles in your newpaper that we might be able to get about the ceremonies that went on. He was a DPS Texas Trooper killed in an automobile accident on Nov 15, 2010 while responding to an automobile accident. At the time their daughter was 6 months old. She celebrated her 1st birthday while in Washington on May 14. My daughter is collecting all ariticles and everything she can to show Kacyn all about her daddy. Please let me know and I will gladly send the cost of the newspapers to you.

    • Hi Kathy: Our profound sorrow for your loss.

The best way to search for articles regarding your son-in-law is to “bracket’ (demonstrated here) his name in search engines (use variations of his name like leaving out the middle initial) or to go the advanced search process of Google and Bing. If the search brings up similar/unrelated names, couple the search with related terms (i.e., trooper).

If that does not provide a satisfactory answer, please contact us via e-mail. We can try the search process for you.

      Best, Adam.
